September 1st: 'A Day That Will Live In Infamy'

That's what my father said 30 years ago today. I think my mom just shouted for more pain killers. The nurses seemed impressed about my arrival for some reason. Come to think of it, I still get that look every now and then.... but that's another story.

Other infamous happenings that occurred on 1 September.

1939: Germany invades Poland
1983: Korean airliner 'shot down'
1969: Bloodless coup in Libya

So basically WWII started on this day. Woo Hoo!

If you'd like to see what I want for my birthday, click here. (Donate if you can)

Now in a perfect world, this is what I'd really like, but I don't think the wife would allow it in the house. I'll just settle for a six pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and a donation to the Red Cross.

Here's to being 30! (Lifts cup of spiked coffee)

Also, here's my post from exactly one year ago when I was in Iraq, enjoying my 29th. Good way to celebrate if you ask me.

Happy 30th Birthday!

Yeah... I remember 30. I had just given birth to my first baby a month earlier. My Dad actually wrote an article for the Cincinnati Enquirer about the fact that I was so damn old to be having my first baby, lol.

Anyway.... hope you have a great day- and hope you're feeling better after that wreck. JEEZ!

Happy B-day!!! I remember 30...it was just 3 years ago, after all. 30 was a great year for me after a not-so-fabulous-29 and I hope it's the same for you!

Hope you're feeling better!

Happy Birthday, ol' buddy...Just creeping towards your death bed, eh?

Only kidding...you're just a baby. I wish you a great birthday, El Capitan with all the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale that you can withstand on a work night. Um, good luck getting the other thing in the house.

...Now get me a drink and we'll toast.
