Tracking Down Friends
I've spent the last 4 months trying to track down a friend of mine who's out in Kandahar. Captain Frances Salazar, aka Frenchie, aka my brother from another mother, aka The P.I. Player (Philippine Islands). Where the hell are you my man?
It just so happens that after he deployed, his unit back home transferred his office to another unit on base, so neither of the commands knew where he was or how to contact him at his deployed location. Can't you feel that Air Force love? I've tried working through CENTAF, but they've been no help, and I know they have bigger fish to fry. He's supposed to get back into town this month, and I hope all is well, but I know he'll be pissed nobody sent him anything or contacted him. I don't blame him.
Thank You Air Force! Way to take care of your own!
As for another friend, I just got an email from the Best Man at my wedding and my daughter's God Father. He's out in the Sand Box following his heart and doing what he loves to do.... blowing shit up as an EOD dog. Thankfully he's in touch and I have his address to send contraband his way. He just got married a few months ago, and I hate to see him away from his woman, but I know he's loving life every day he's out there.
Good luck Brian. Be safe, watch your back, and stay the hell in touch or else I'll personally fly out there and kick your ass, which is what I should have done to Frenchie a few months ago. And don't tell me I can't do it, I still have a few months of rank on you.

Makes me glad that the Army has AKO because it allowes me to look up any of my friends and send them email to their AKO email which stays the same no matter where they deploy. :D And if they have a good S2 that keeps the records updated, it also gives me the unit addy.
