What Have I Become?
I'm not sure which is worse:
1) Finding Zamfir being played on my XM Radio, or
2) Feeling excitement that I'd come across Zamfir on my radio, and actually recognizing one of his tunes.
I'm deeply concerned that not only will I spend eternity in a 'special' place, but that special place will have Zamfir playing on a non-stop loop. Seriously, how many children of the 80s remember those Zamfir commercials? I think we were all brainwashed by his Eastern European Commie-carved Panpipes. Why else would I still remember him and his music? Maybe I just watched way too much TV as a kid.
Play his record backwards and you'll here, 'Communism is your friend, Gorbachev is your friend, Soylent Green is not made of human remains.'

I must have missed tv in the 80's. Don't know who he is or care.
El Capitan - could you please please replace my link (Toni's View) with www.bearcreekledger.com ?
Holy crap, existential linguini. I remember that guy, but I sure as hell don't remember listening to him ;) You're going to hell for this.7:50 PM
Oh, HELL YEAH, I remember Zamfir the Pan flutist. Here's why:
Time: After bars closed
Participants: Me and Stoner/Surfer Matt
I'm back to the house shared with four others. Loaded after a night of cheap dollar drafts that cater to college goers. Stoner Matt is, uhm, stoned. I sit down to eat my AM/PM hotdog and Matt's watching TV. Zamfir the pan flutist infomercial is on. I laugh out loud and say, "You know why they put this shizzat on in the middle of the night? Because no one's gonna buy this!"
Matt: "Actually it's pretty good! I have the CD upstairs."
You may have to know Matt, but it was one of the funniest moments I ever experienced with that guy. It brings a smile to my face thinking about it....
