Dick Cheney - The Man, The Myth... The Legend
Two comments about Cheney's hunting accident. First, why do all the headlines say that Cheney shot his hunting 'companion.' When I lived in Alaska, the hunting Mecca of the western world, anyone referring to their hunting friend as a 'companion' would be laughed out of the state. It's amazing how easy it is to get the press to show how little they know about the world 'outside of the beltway.' Next thing you know they'll be calling the backseaters and wingmen 'flying companions'.
Second comment was something one of Michelle Malkin's readers wrote to her about the hunting incident. I'd like to see this repeated throughout the talk show world, but pigs haven't started flying yet.
Reader C.T. writes:
"I'd rather hunt with Dick Cheney than ride with Ted Kennedy ."

I'm with C.T.!!! I've been peppered with birdshot - I'd bet that most anyone who has been bird hunting many times has had it happen to them. I knew the press would blow this all out of proportion though.

You've been peppered with birdshot before? I hope you still use the incident to push your husband's guilt button every now and then. Damn, if I had shot my wife I'd be 6 feet under before she said 'ouch.'
No big deal - I'm so short most of it would hit my cap - a few on my ammo vest - and always from far enough away that it just rattled, didn't hurt. It wasn't necessarily my husband who peppered me, just whoever happened to be opposite my position. Since I was carrying my own 12-gauge, be sure that none of the hunters would hurt me! Got rid of the hubby several years ago (34 yrs was enough), but didn't shoot him! Dang it!
7:37 PMForgot to say he didn't have a guilt button - hence the getting rid of him... :)
7:39 PM'Getting rid of him'... sounds like the Dixie Chicks song about Earl. I hope you hid the body well ;o)
How's Alabama treating you lately. I'm headed there this summer for 6 weeks of training. Should be a blast... of humidity that is.
Count on it! 'Speshly if you're headed to the Montgomery area. I'm in N. AL & we actually had about 2-3 inches of snow Sunday AM. High today should be about 57. Maybe the cold killed a few mosquitoes - was on my carport talking with my son Wednesday night & the mosquitoes ran us inside.
