Viva La Revolucion!
Senator Chuck Schumer: "We're in better shape than [Republicans] are, because they don't realize that Reaganomics is dead, that the Reagan philosophy is dead," he said. "We realize that New Deal democracy, which is still our paradigm, which is sort of appeal to each group ... that doesn't work any more."
He had said a bit earlier, "The old Reagan theory which dominated -- which is, 'Government is bad, it's out of touch, chop off its hands as soon as it moves.' -- is over."
El Capitan: "Trust me... the revolution, the theory that Government is not more powerful or capable than the individual, is not dead. What's dead is our patience in dealing with 'conservatives by name only' who have bastardized the Reagan Revolution for their own political gain. The indecisive, unproductive 'days of the moderate' have passed. It's time to grow a pair and stand firm in your principles."

I wish we could have cloned the man before they put him in the ground.
I miss the Gipper - who is to this day the only POTUS to have ever earned a degree in economics. The NEW DEAL is DOG SQUEEZE, and even Schumer knows it, he just doesn't admit it because he's a giant TOOL. The government totally sucks!
It doesn't really suck... it just blows. From all sides of course. That's why I miss the guy. No matter how much hatred came from the opposite end of the aisle, he still got things done, did them very well, and changed the nation for the better.
We just need to find someone else to get us out of this political pile of crap we're stuck in right now.
Re: Your comment, EC - Do you see anyone on the horizon for whom you'd willingly vote? I'm afraid that like Bear Bryant, the Gipper ain't comin' back, and I don't see anyone even comin' close to him. I've got one guy in mind but he hasn't said he'd run & I'm not sure he could be elected if he did. Gotta do a bit more personal research on him, too. I voted for him quite a few years ago when I lived in his state and sent him to Congress. I wasn't a bit sorry for that vote.
