Chief Gebhardt... Making a Difference
"Air Force Chief Master Sgt. John Gebhardt, of the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group at Balad, Iraq, cradles a young girl as they both sleep in the hospital. The girl's entire family was executed by insurgents; the killers shot her in the head as well. The girl received treatment at the U.S. military hospital in Balad, but cries and moans often. According to nurses at the facility, Gebhardt is the only one who can calm the girl, so he has spent the last several nights holding her while they both sleep in a chair."
Chief Gebhardt exemplifies the new Air Force motto 'Do Something Amazing'.

I can't make a freakin comment with that stupid-ass Beta crap.

Allicadem
Unfortunately, we don't hear enough about "amazing" things like this that our military men and women are doing.
Thanks for sharing.
I LOVED this pic and the text. Sent it to everyone I know.
9:59 AMthat is a touching moment in the awful aftermath this senseless war. there is little doubt that that poor little girl would still have her family alive if the president had not sent our military to iraq on a false mission in the first place.
beware you misinterpret the meaning of this picture and fall prey to right wing propaganda blurring the lines between supporting the war and supporting the troops.
they are in fact 2 very different things.
