Who Said Money Can Buy Happiness?

My 18 y/o Step-son said something interesting the other day. He wants to quit his current job and work at another location that pays much less and has less security, but it offers a commission that might pay more.

When weighing the pros and cons, he informed us that making more money was the only way to become successfull in life, and that by having more money you will be happier.

It took me until age 25 to understand that making money does not equate to a successfull life. Now I'm trying to explain this to him. I think I may have just found three of the best examples of how having all the money in the world does not make you happy.

These people are the very definition of "sad", not happy. They make me sad too, 'cause I'm sick to death of hearing all about them. I wonder if anyone other than the media gives a flip about them?

They are sad.

I fear that Spears is on her way to an end like Anna Nicole Smith - and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Sometimes I wonder if these people might return to some semblance of a "normal" life if the media and papparazzi would leave them alone.

I guess we'll never know.
