Ayyyyy Matey, It's Talk Like A Pirate Day
Okay, couldn't keep typing like that.
This is turning into a big deal out here in Iraq, namely because we have so little we can do for fun while we're doing what we do. Hey, we take what we can get around here.
Lots of folks trying out different Pirate quotes and screwing around throughout the day. There are Pirate flags appearing on emails and in meetings. Pirate movies all night.
Here's the Official Site for Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Here's how you get your Pirate Name.
Also, here's our Air Force flag for the day we're raising o'er de ship.
And for our Navy brethren....
We're Super! Thanks for asking!

Have fun where you can! Here's what your "name" quiz had to say about me:
Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!
My name: Bloody Mary Flint
Garrggh, welcome to me boondogle Bloody Mary Flint!
What really helps with the accent is alcohol, which explains why I'm struggling with it out here ;o)
"A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!"
We've got a trebuchet out by the flightline capable of hurling cans of Coke, basketballs, and water bottles over 50 yards. Not really a pirate thing, but it gets the job done. ;)
-A1C "Iron Roger Kidd", ASAB, Kuwait
Garrrrgh, Iron Roger Kidd, that kicks ass. It beats what we have up here in the IZ. The only plank we get to walk is the ramp going up to the DFAC.
Who would have thought the Air Force would have a Trebuchet. Top that Navy.
Black Tom Flint? I guess it could have been worse.
Great flags, by the way.
Half me work emails today be in pirate speak....ARRRR!
(still got a few hours till talk like a pirate day is over, gotta milk it for all its worth)
"Dirty Jenny Kidd"
Even tho' usually slurred to sound like what you wrote, it's actually, "me hearty". YCLIU
2:44 AMA pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. You're musical, and you've got a certain style if not flair. You'll do just fine. Arr!
Nice to meet you, even if it's a day late! Iron Jenny Cash, here!
ARGH!!!!
Iron Jenny Cash? I dated an Iron Jenny once. Scary. Welcome aboard anyhoot.
Brianfh... dude, you corrected my spelling of Mi Hearty? Mi Hearty, Mi Hardy... does it really matter in the end?
Then again I can't even spell my own name right half the time. I'm sure you can spot the dozens of mispellings in every post. It's a combination of not having enough time to edit because I'm too busy and shouldn't be posting, or that I'm just a terrible speller.
Mostly a terrible speller, thanks to spell checker. It allowed us all to be lazy.
I don't particularly care whether you spell correctly or not - am just grateful when you have time to give us a "breath check". Rock on, Dude!
