Black Friday
Sitting here in line at the store at 4am. Just finished waiting 2 hours just to get into this store. Am I here by choice? Hell no. I'm here for the wife.
I'm no fan of shopping like this, but she needed the help and she does save hundreds on Christmas shopping. She planned the morning out with 20 sale adds, maps, and lists of stores that price match. Overlay those stores on the map with ones offering gift cards, do some exotic formula, and presto. You get 20 DVDs for 4 bucks and a laptop for 50.
It's worth it, but it still sucks being out here this early.

She's a 'power shopper'! I'd do without and make everyone around me do without before I'd do that. You couldn't have paid me to go to a store today. I don't like shopping in the best of environments - not even grocery shopping. I'm weird, I know.
Bless your heart! :-)
Not so weird Miss B...I had to work today...retail on Black Friday...and they wonder why I hate to shop on my day off! (Although...a laptop for $50...might, maybe, could get me out of the house...maybe.)
7:51 PMI always though black Friday was pretty much a gimmick, I could always find the same deals or better all throughout December. Then again, me going into a store at 4am after eating a pound of turkey, is just not happening.
The most important thing to do though is not get carried away with buying unnecessary things, stick to your shopping list, watch for deals, and you'll always save money.

That sounds like some serious planning, El Capitan. I hope y'all found all of the bargains you were hunting.
2:53 PMDude, I drove by the Best Buy near my house on Thanksgiving morning and people were lining up already! They had their umbrellas out (kinda sunny in SoCal) and brought a picnic. Craziness.
11:34 PMMerry Christmas, Tony - to you and to yours. Hope all is well.
