Whoa there, Cap'n -- you gotta make an exception for prior-service Lieutenants! I wasn't a "wet-behind-the-ears," naive Lt when I sported my bars!
9:35 PMRemember our butter bars days El Capitan? Remember when we were not expected to know anything and anything we did right impressed folks? Remember when we were carefree souls without...oh wait, we were never on casual. All that came to an abrupt screeching halt at O-3 though.
When it comes to prior-enlisted officers, I have noticed two types:
1) Grumpy, bitter folks who became officers to outrank and get back at people they hated in the past but end up spreading it to everyone else. And it didn't hurt that the pay was better.
2) Grumpy, bitter folks who got fed up with seeing incompetents in charge and became officers so they would have the rank to make things better and set a sterling example for everyone. And it didn't hurt that the pay was better.

given the subject matter...you should check out these Demotivational gems. And, just remember...the older we get, the better we were!
