F-35 Lightning II Takes First Flight
If you haven't heard, Lockheed Martin and the Air Force flew the first official F-35 Lightning II on 15 December. It'll be a few more years before you start seeing these babies flying combat missions, so to help diversify their production line Lockheed Martin has decided to make an F-35 for those who are physically challenged, or can't pass the stringent Air Force pilot physical.
Yes, it's still stealthy, still lethal, and it comes with automated chair lift and can park in the best parking spaces at the mall. There are even some rumors that thanks to this model, the Army is considering re-entering the fighter aircraft world.
